TURKISH AEGEAN CRUISE

MARMARIS-FETHIYE-MARMARIS

You will cruise the spectacular tree-lined coast of the historical Aegean, dropping anchor in fabulous secluded bays and colourful fishing harbours.

Friday: Welcome on board in Marmaris. You'll meet your fellow shipmates and have all your time to make yourself feel at home on the yacht.
Saturday: Your first day at sea. Cast-off and your first sight of the beautiful blue sea as we cruise towards the water and breathtaking scenery of Paradise Island. A relaxing way to start your holiday swimming and sunbathing in quiet, picturesque surroundings.
Sunday: An early start to Ekincik, where there is an exciting day ahead of you. You have the chance to take an optional trip to Dalyan and Caunos. This is a day on a river boat as we sail down the narrow, reed-lined waterways and view the amazing rock tombs. Caunos is an ancient site with an amphitheatre, acropolis and tombs to explore. We will have lunch in a beautiful river-side restaurant and take a dip in the famous mud baths, which are said to work wonders on your complexion! You will also see the turtle beach with its white sands, where Caretta Caretta Turtles still lay their eggs.
Monday: After breakfast you will sail to Fethiye Harbour. After lunch there is an optional trip to the spectacular blue lagoon of Ölü Deniz. This picturesque area is one of the most famous sights on the Turkish coast - the lagoon and beach are now part of a National Park and therefore the water is crystal clear. You may also want to take advantage of the many watersports on Oludeniz beach - waterskiing, parasailing and even paragliding! After spending a few hours at one of Turkey's most famous and photographed lagoons we then take you to Fethiye for a Turkish bath - the ultimate experience in relaxation! Relax as you are massaged and scrubbed thoroughly clean. After your Turkish bath you feel revived and invigorated and ready to join in the evening fun and entertainment - at our Turkish night. The setting is a traditional Turkish restaurant overlooking the harbour of Fethiye, here you will be wined and dined with a mouthwatering selection of Turkish mezes (starters) followed by Guvec (a traditional and delicious special Turkish stew), while you are being entertained by a colourful array of dances from all over Turkey with Turkish folklore dancers in traditional costumes. After the dancers comes the highlight of the evening, the bellydancer. After you have drunk a few glasses of the local wine you may even want to have a go yourself!
Tuesday: You will sail to the bays of Göcek Gulf. Here vast reddy cliffs pock-marked with caves and ravines divide steep slopes thickly wooded in pine. The water is clear but often very deep. There is good snorkelling at batik Hamam where you can see the ruins of a Hamam (Turkish Bath). Overnight at Tersane Island. There are numerous ruins at the head of the creek, many dating from Byzantine times.
Wednesday: A relaxing day sailing across Fethiye Gulf. Your captain will find a quiet secluded bay for swimming and snorkelling and then you'll stay the night at a natural bay - Aga Limani.
Thursday: This is your last day of cruising. After breakfast and a cruise along the spectacular coast you will sail into the bay of Marmaris. Drop anchor in Kadirga or Icmeler and sit on the boat for your last dinner under the stars.
Friday The last chance to have a toast to your fellow shipmates and crew before tying up, leaving the gulet and moving into your hotel in Marmaris. We hope you are taking many memories of your voyage home with you and look forward to seeing you again on board.

Itineraries As with everything on a gulet cruise, your itinerary is extended to be fairly flexible. While a general route is planned by the captain who knows all the hidden secrets of the coastline, he is always happy, where possible, to accomodate the wishes of the passengers. Due to unforeseen circumstances your itinerary may have to be changed at short notice.
